The hotel's name references two courtyards: one from an 18th-century Spanish convent cloister and another that served as a shelter for stagecoaches and horses in the mid-19th century.

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel, but there were some room-related issues and breakfast could be improved. The service was excellent, and the location was convenient. The dining experience had its ups and downs, but overall, it was a good stay.

The hotel is in a perfect area right across the entrance of old Como, offering a great location for visiting Como, especially ideal for those with a car. The rooms needed a refresh and were incorrectly advertised as having balconies for our stay of 5 nights, but the service was exceptional with kind staff and lovely pizza pescatora at breakfast. The dining experience was not on par with a 4-star standard, although the location was outstanding across the street from the historic center of Como.

The hotel had mixed experiences with stone-cold floors and almost no view in the room, but the bad air conditioning was a downside. Despite being promised a non-smoking room, I found one that still stank of smoke. The room size was small, but the location was convenient for exploring Como.
